Tired of Working at Home? Try Coworking!

Tired of Working at Home? Try Coworking!
Do you have a rambunctious family or distracting neighbors? Is your home unsuitable for the business assignments you need to complete? Then perhaps you should consider finding your own office space in order to better concentrate on your business. The flexibility and accessibility of shared office space can be just what you need to take your business to the next level and out of your home.
1. Affordable
If you are a startup or small business, you may not be able to afford the cost of purchasing your own office space, but you still need more room or just a more professional setting to meet potential clients, co-working could be exactly what you need. Some facilities even offer space for as little as $2 per hour.
2. Free Parking
Most offices will have their own parking lots or structures so you won’t have to worry about paying for parking. Another saving for your small business that you can use toward other more important needs. Your clients won’t need to search for parking either to come meet you. This saves time and energy and helps your business appear more professional and efficient.
3. Networking Possibilities
Any chance to be within an office space with other professionals can be a great networking opportunity. You’ll meet people, maybe work right beside them, and can form valuable business connections.
4. Pick Your Office Times
If you are just beginning in your business, you may only be able to devote your weekends presently to your endeavor. Buying retail office space would be an unnecessary expenditure, instead rent extra office space, a studio or unused cubicles whenever you need them: weekends, holidays, nights, whatever fits your business needs.

The Oldest Family Run Business in the World

The Oldest Family Run Business in the World
Businesses are often able to garner attention just for having been around a long time. The words “Established in ….” are often proudly displayed directly under a company’s name on many signs. The older the business, the more trustworthy it must be. After all, how could anything not great exist for so long? A particular mystique is added when it is an old, family run business where one can imagine the pride and knowledge of a company being passed down through a single family, from generation to generation. This brings us to the Hoshi Ryokan, a Japanese Inn that, amazingly, opened its doors over 1300 years ago and claims the title as the oldest family owned business in the world.
Divine Origins

The Hoshi Ryokan is much more than merely a very old hotel. Even its beginnings are steeped in legend. The story of the Inn’s opening begins in 717 with Taicho Daishi, a great teacher of
Buddhism who had climbed Mount Hakusan for the purpose of meditation. Legend has it that after rigorous spiritual exercises, the guardian deity of Mount Hakusan appeared to the monk in a dream. Taicho Daishi was told of an unknown, underground hot spring with curative powers in the village of Awazu. Taicho was commanded by the deity to uncover the hot spring so that the people may heal themselves in its waters. Once discovered, Taicho ordered his disciple, Garyo Hoshi, to build a spa on the site and to run it for posterity thus beginning the Inn’s long history.
Modern Times

Throughout the centuries the Hoshi Ryokan has
expanded to one hundred rooms, accommodating up to 450 guests, but still maintains much of its original look. It is run by the 46th generation of the Hoshi family. The hot spring is still a popular destination with many still believing in its curative powers. Comfort and healing remain important themes to the Inn as guests are clothed in traditional kimonos and treated to a Japanese tea ceremony upon arriving. Some of the other amenities to be enjoyed by the modern visitor include a theatre, traditional rooms each named to represent a season, and fine dining. As the region is renowned for its fine food products, the Inn boasts of simple and pure preparations of dishes to preserve the wonderful inherit tastes.
The New Record Holder

Surprisingly, it was only in the past decade that the Hoshi Ryokan took the crown as the world’s oldest family run business. The previous title holder was Kongo Gumi, a Japanese construction company run by consecutive generations of the Kongo family dating back to 578. However, the company fell on hard financial times and was absorbed by a larger corporation in 2006.

In an era where technology is constantly evolving and people are always looking for the next new thing, there is some comfort in knowing that change is not always constant. For nearly 1300 years the Hoshi Ryokan has greeted guests and kept its history alive into the modern days.

A Few Fast and Easy Preparation Tips for Working Moms

A Few Fast and Easy Preparation Tips for Working Moms
Being a working mom is all about juggling; it’s about achieving that fine balance between your professional and home life- doing it with style, keeping everyone happy and most of all, maintaining your sanity.
Schedules can be unforgiving, but your best weapon is preparation. There will be days when you have to get yourself and kids ready and get out the door at the same time. By getting things ready in advance you might even be able to achieve a fairly relaxed morning. Challenge yourself to prepare absolutely everything- you’ll thank yourself later.
Food Prep
Try making lunches the night before- having them neatly packed away in the fridge means you can just grab and go.
You can also prepare breakfast in advance- try making whole-wheat pancakes on the weekend and freeze them for during the week. Breakfast burritos also freeze well. Natural instant oatmeal makes for a hot, fiber-rich start to the day and you can chop fruit in the afternoons and keep a big tub of it in the fridge.
Program your coffee machine to have the coffee ready at a certain time or have it loaded and ready to go at the click of a button.
Have long-sleeved baby bibs or cover-ups ready for your littlest kids and check out our tip for older kids’ breakfast disasters.
What to Wear
Set a reminder on your cell phone to remind you to check the laundry situation when you get home from work- this will help you avoid any last-minute crises over what’s clean or dirty.
Lay out your own clothes and the kids’ clothes before bed, down to socks, underwear, shoes and even accessories like earrings and scarves. Keep jackets and any outerwear handy, right by the door.
It’s also a good idea to have a back-up shirt ready in case of any spills or stains- this goes for you too!
In the Evenings
Evenings are a good time to go through the house and do a quick check to make sure you’re ready for the next day- toothbrushes and toiletries arranged, car keys should be where you can find them, your purse should have everything you need and you should now be able to enjoy a few minutes of peace and quiet before the busy day tomorrow!

Learn How To Choose A Right Name For Your Business Venture

Learn How To Choose A Right Name For Your Business Venture
So, thinking about starting your own business and have even chalked out a plan for the same? Well, having a catchy and meaningful name for your new business is as important as the business itself. Just imagine, would you be drawn towards a service or a product which has a different and striking name and which also creates a better recall of the brand. Let us see how to select the right name for your newly established or establishing business venture in order to make it popular among its target audience.
Check Copyrights
Before picking a name for your new business venture, check and research thoroughly whether any other company has already used that particular name. If so, it might have the copyrights on that name. So, choosing to name your business by that would mean you are violating the law which could penalize you.
Brand Recall
While deciding a name for your fresh venture, always select a name which drills into the mind of the users or whoever gets to hear the name for that matter. Some of the brands are just plain ear friendly and are easy to remember as well. On top of that the name should help the people remember what your business is all about. There should not be a complete disconnect.
Brand Message
What are you selling? Why are you selling? What can your customers gain by buying your products or services? What difference do you intend to create through your services? You have to make double sure that the name which you have decided for your business, conveys the answers to all of those questions to the people.
Add A Tag Line
This feature is considered to be one of the most important features of a business or brand name. A tag line gives form, shape and clarity to your business message, adds professionalism, grace and class.  Hence make sure, that your business venture has a catchy tag line which could compel the people to ponder about your business message and purpose.
Avoid The Predictable
Trying to convey the brand message and relating to your target audience is absolutely fine. However, make sure that your name business name does not sound very predictable and mundane, especially when your competitors already exist in the industry by similar names. For instance- if you are selling a cosmetic product, do not emphasize too much only on making women beautiful as every second cosmetic brand is trying to convince the women for the same. Think of names which speak of utility in an unobtrusive manner.
Simplicity Could Do The Trick
Having mentioned the last point, it certainly does not mean that you have to pick up a name which is too complicated or high sounding in meaning, simply in an attempt to stand out and be unconventional. You could choose the basic terms to name your business venture for example if you are opening a new restaurant, you could name it as basic as Yummylicious instead of scratching your head on and off to figure out a different and striking name. Your business name should be easy for people to remember, speak and spell. Else, there is a psychological obstruction which comes in between you and your target audience, simply because of the fact that if people cannot connect with the brand’s name, they would always struggle to relate to its services.
Think About Longevity
Have patience while selecting a name for your business venture. Do not be in so much rush to get started that you choose a name which might be significant at the time, but would lose its utility in the long run. Selecting a name which would work for two or three years and then fade away will not make your business in hot books!
